Jurgen Klopp could make 11 changes to starting line up for Liverpool's League Cup clash with MK Dons

Jurgen Klopp is contemplating a complete overhaul of his starting line-up for Liverpool's trip to MK Dons.

The Reds begin their League Cup campaign with a visit to the League One side on Wednesday night.

Klopp is expected to make wholesale changes to his team having limited rotation during the early weeks of the season.

And there is a possibility he may name a completely different starting line-up to the one that began the 2-1 Premier League win at Chelsea on Sunday.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, who has been on the bench six times this season, is likely to be given a debut with Liverpool looking to take Adrian out of the firing line with Alisson Becker still sidelined.

Rhian Brewster is also expected to make his long-awaited bow up front, while summer signing Harvey Elliott could be among the substitutes.

Curtis Jones and Ki-Jana Hoever, who made their first-team breakthroughs in January, are also pushing for inclusion, although the situation is complicated somewhat by Liverpool fielding an under-21 side in the EFL Trophy at Fleetwood Town on the same evening.

A number of senior players are almost certain to be given an opportunity, with Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez likely to feature in defence, while Adam Lallana and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlaini should start.

Xherdan Shaqiri is injured and will miss the game.

Naby Keita's fitness will be assessed before a decision made on his inclusion after returning to training last week, but Divock Origi is unlikely to be risked.
