Jurgen Klopp confirms Liverpool remain active in summer transfer window

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Liverpool remain active during what remains of the summer transfer window.

Despite previously ruling out signing short-term solutions, an injury crisis has made life difficult for the club during the early stages of the Premier League season.

While a number of players are expected to make their return over the next few weeks, Klopp’s options in midfield have been criticised of late.

With Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain struggling to stay fit, the German has largely had to rely on the trio of James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho for much of the past two seasons.

Harvey Elliott and summer signing Fabio Carvalho offer long-term solutions but lack a huge amount of experience at the top level.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Bournemouth at Anfield, Klopp revealed the club are constantly working on trying to find the right targets, though stressed the importance of not rushing into any rash decisions.

"I don’t know," said Klopp.

"We are actually working constantly on these kind of things.

"One thing stays important - it needs to be the right player. We are working but we will see if something will happen or not. I don’t know."
