Jurgen Klopp confirms Liverpool FC stance on Manchester United transfer target Jadon Sancho

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted he would love to sign Manchester United transfer target Jadon Sancho in the upcoming window but admitted a move to Anfield isn't going to happen.

Sancho is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund in the upcoming transfer window and is a priority target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

MEN Sport understand the England international has a preference to return to Manchester and various reports have credited both Liverpool and Chelsea with an interest in the 20-year-old.

The former Manchester City winger is expected to cost over £100million and Liverpool have already rejected the chance to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig due to the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.

Klopp admitted he would love to see Sancho in a Liverpool shirt but said a transfer was highly unlikely.

"A red jersey would look very good on Jadon," he told BILD. "But I don't think such a transfer will take place this summer.

"He is a very interesting player. If he moved to Liverpool, I would be the most surprised of all!"

Dortmund head of the licensed player division Sebastian Kehl expects their star forward to remain at the club next year amid interest from United.

"We expect Jadon to play with BVB next season," he told SportBuzzer.

"We’re all very happy with the quality that he brings to our side and the difference that he can make."
