Jurgen Klopp clearly outlines Liverpool's transfer plans ahead of summer window

Jurgen Klopp has admitted he's keen to strengthen Liverpool - but adds its very hard to do so, because his squad is so talented.

The coronavirus pandemic has seen Liverpool tighten their belts in recent months, with the Reds forced to miss out on Timo Werner to Chelsea.

Klopp isn't expected to have a lot of money at his disposal in the summer window, but will keep his eyes open for potential signings.

In the meantime though he is 'leaving the door open' for the fringe players, inviting them to show him what they've got to compete for places in the first team.

"I'd like to leave the door open for players," Klopp told BT Sport.

"Whether that's young players or experienced players who didn't play exactly as much as they maybe wanted, it's difficult to answer the question because of how the situation is.

"If there is an opportunity for us then we will try to improve the squad but I don't know if it's possible, it's really hard to improve the group.

"With a team like us, how can you buy a player with the same quality as Bobby [Firmino] or Sadio [Mane], it's not possible."
