Jurgen Klopp can't resist taking swipe at Man Utd as Liverpool win Team of the Year award

Jurgen Klopp couldn't resist taking a cheeky swipe at Manchester United as Liverpool won the 2020 BBC Sports Personality Team of the Year award.

Upon collecting the award, alongside Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, Klopp took aim at the Reds' bitter rivals with a smirk on his face.

"Winning this award in Manchester makes it even sweeter by the way," said Klopp.

On the award, he added: "My team deserves it. They did an incredible job. Character, desire plus the power of the club, which is a big one. It was a great moment.

"We can wait for the fans. We do what we can to bridge the time until they are back again.

"We will organise a big big party when we are allowed again. Hopefully we can win two things to celebrate with them. We can't wait to see them again."

Moments later Klopp picked up the 2020 BBC Sports Personality Coach of the Year award.

Upon winning this award, he added: "It's really nice and on behalf of my coaches, I accept it and take it home to Liverpool. Thank you very much."

Klopp guided Liverpool to a first Premier League title in the club's history last season.
