Jurgen Klopp brushes off pre-season worries and says two returning stars may face Lyon

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says he's not too worried about his side's third defeat in their last four pre-season games, and hinted that the real work starts at their training camp in Evian on Monday.

Liverpool were well beaten by Serie A side Napoli in Edinburgh on Sunday, going down 3-0 to leave the majority of the 65,000 crowd at Murrayfield disappointed.

Goals from Lorenzo Insigne, Arkadiusz Milik and Amin Younes gave the Italians a deserved win, and leaves Liverpool winless in four games after they lost to Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla and drew with Sporting Lisbon in America.

"I could say so much but I think it makes no sense if I say it all, it was obvious," Klopp told LFCTV after the game.

"We started really well, and then 'boom', that's it. And we were not patient enough in the right moments and we didn't play enough football in others, and we suffered physically in some moments."

Liverpool have been without Alisson, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri throughout pre-season, and Klopp says their absences have been felt.

"Finally this period is over," he said. "I never had a situation like this without six players making a complete pre-season, it's just strange.

"The best news is that (Manchester) City has no clue who they will face next week (in the Community Shield) because we will surprise ourselves probably."

All six of the players bar Mane will return for Liverpool's training camp in Evian on Monday, and Klopp says Keita and Shaqiri could play a part in the friendly against Lyon in Geneva on Wednesday.

"They trained already once with us, one session," he said. "They are not here but they will come tomorrow.

"They should be a step further, hopefully they can play a couple of minutes on Wednesday.

"That's five of six back, which is a good number."
