Jurgen Klopp brings back old habit after final whistle as Liverpool beat Everton

We don't see it too often now. Not when the television cameras follow his every move.

But the moment Jurgen Klopp managed to free himself from his shadowers, the Liverpool manager gave the Kop exactly what it wanted

And why not?

His much-changed and vastly inexperienced Liverpool side had just beaten Everton 1-0 in a FA Cup Merseyside derby to remember.

Curtis Jones, Liverpool-born and a lifelong Red, settled the third-round tie with a stunning first goal of his senior career.

That ensured the 18-year-old got one of the biggest receptions from a fervent Anfield crowd at the full-time whistle.

Klopp was quick to congratulate Jones, Nico Williams, Nat Phillips, Yasser Larouci and the rest of his heroes to make sure they lapped up the applause.

But then he briefly took centre stage himself with his famous fist-pump celebration in front of the Kop.
