Football manager Jurgen Klopp has been awarded the Freedom of Liverpool.
Following Jurgen Klopp's arrival in Liverpool, the German manager has won the hearts of not just football fans, but people living in the city. After just seven years of emotion, success and kindness, the 55-year-old has now been awarded Freedom of Liverpool, with Klopp speaking emotionally before the ceremony.
Speaking about whether he is an honourary scouser now he has been awarded the prestigious accolade, he said: "I cannot. It is not for me to say that but I feel like that and over the years you realise that the scouse people and us as a family have a lot of things in common.

"We care about similar things, have similar political views and we like to be very open, that's how it is. All people around me, my friends and family, see more of the city than I do and I hear always that they enjoy it exactly because of that; because people are really open, nice, kind and friendly. That's what I want to be as well."
Lord Mayor of Liverpool Cllr Roy Gladden said: “Awarding the Freedom of Liverpool is one of the great honours of the position of Lord Mayor. It is a chance to acknowledge the achievements and service of a wide range of people and organisations on behalf of our city."
