Jurgen Klopp asked whether he'd prefer to win Premier League or Champions League with Liverpool FC

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed which, out of the Champions League and Premier League, he’d prefer to win this season.

The Reds are still fighting on both fronts in the business end of the season, and the German has spoken openly about which trophy he would prefer to get his hands come the end of the season.

Liverpool currently trail Manchester City by a point in the Premier Leagu e title race, with just two games to go, while in Europe, the Reds face Barcelona in the last four as they chase a second successive Champion League final.

But when asked in the build-up to his side’s first-leg tie against the Spanish giants which out of the two trophies he’d prefer to win, Klopp gave a definitive answer.

Raheem Sterling reveals Man City goal target he set for himself at beginning of season

"Tomorrow I only play Champions League," Klopp said.

"If you asked me in five years looking back, I’d say that if I would have had the chance to choose I would have said probably the league, that nobody asked me anymore about that. That would be my preferred thing.

"Win the league once and then nobody asks you what you want to win.

"It’s not like in my trophy cabinet at home you can’t close the door because it’s full. I take what I can get."
