Jurgen Klopp and three of his Liverpool stars nominated for Premier League prizes

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Year award - while three of his stars have also been shortlisted for the Player of the Season accolade.

Klopp, who joined the Reds in October 2015, has lead his side to second in the table having accumulated the fourth-most points of any team in a single Premier League season.

The Reds currently sit a point behind table-toppers Manchester City, who must beat Brighton on the final of the season to be sure of regaining their crown, but if City slip-up on the South Coast, then the Reds will be ready to pounce, and could possibly end their 29-year wait for a league championship.

The German is up against Pep Guardiola, Espirito Santo and Mauricio Pochettino for the gong.

While Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane are all in the running to be crowned league's Player of the Season.

The trio feature on a seven-man shortlist for the award, with Salah, currently the Premier League's top scorer this season with 22 goals, looking to become the first player to retain the award since Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2007/08 season.

Team-mate Mane, who has enjoyed the most prolific campaign of his career, is also in the running after scoring 20 times in the league for the Reds this season.

While at the other end of the pitch, Van Dijk,  who has played all but 35 minutes of the Reds' Premier League season, and been part of a backline that has conceded just 22 goals in 37 matches, will be looking to make it a double, after he was named the PFA Player of the Year two weeks ago.

The trio are up against Manchester City's Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling for the accolade, while Eden Hazard of Chelsea is also on the shortlist.
