Jurgen Klopp and Luis Suarez in agreement over Man Utd transfer target Ousmane Dembele

Manchester United could be set to land Ousmane Dembele on a season-long loan.

The Red Devils are in talks with Barcelona over an audacious temporary switch, according to Sky Sports.

The move would serve as a stop-gap until they can launch a fresh attempt to prize Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund next summer.

But Dembele could also turn out to be a star performance at Old Trafford if Ed Woodward can pull off a move.

And both Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and former Barcelona team-mate Luis Suarez are in full agreement over Dembele’s quality.

Klopp and the Reds were heavily linked with a move for Dembele before he ended up making the big-money move to the Nou Camp.

But when doubts over his future at the club first began to emerge back in May 2018 and Klopp was asked about his interest, he seemingly confirmed he is a big fan of his talent.

"Is he on the market? Now I'm interested,” he declared.

Former Reds striker Suarez, meanwhile, has seen Dembele up close and is also in little doubt regarding his talent.

However, he admitted he has a lot to learn off the pitch in order to get the best out of himself and become one of the world’s best.

"He's young and had a lot of people tell him: you're going to be a superstar and everything will be great," Suarez told Sport in February 2019.

"But the reality is there's still so much to learn.

"That happened to me too. I had to live in that moment and what I have to do is support Ousmane.

"He's got a lot of players in the dressing room he can learn professionalism from.

"No one can teach Ousmane how to kick a ball because he already knows that. But another thing is how you work/train. He needs his routines to keep getting better.

"Obviously he's a player that is only getting started but I think he's going to be one of the best in the world."

United will now hope they can tempt him to Old Trafford and unlock the talent recognised by Suarez and Klopp if they cannot secure a deal for Sancho before October 5.
