Jurgen Klopp aims dig at UEFA and travel companies over European final prices

Jurgen Klopp has showed his support to fans who are trying to travel to watch their teams in both the upcoming Champions League and Europa League finals.

For the first time ever it will be an all-English affair in the two European finals, with Tottenham and Liverpool facing off in Madrid while Arsenal and Chelsea must make the much longer trip to play in Baku, Azerbaijan.

But the success of the Premier League teams in Europe has been overshadowed by logistical problems and issues for supporters wanting to attend the matches.

The price of flights and accommodation in Madrid rocketed after the Champions League semi-final matches, while there are currently no direct flights to Baku and only around 6,000 tickets each being offered to Arsenal and Chelsea fans for the Europa League final.

Klopp has slammed UEFA for their role in proceedings, as well as criticising travel companies for hiking up their prices for the events.

“I don’t know what these travel guys have for breakfast," he said.

“Last year we went to Kiev! Baku, we have no record of how to go there.

“These decisions must be much more sensible and reasonable.

“I don’t know how they do it. In the cities they get the final maybe they make a price cut that it will not be more than this in a specific category?

“A room that is usually £100 is now £2,700.

“I sympathise with that a lot.”

Liverpool fans will be hoping they can forget their travelling woes by winning a first Premier League title this weekend as they look to upset the odds and overtake Manchester City at the top of the table.

The Reds must beat Wolves and hope Brighton can do them a favour if they are to win their first top flight title since 1990.

If they are unsuccessful they will have the consolation of that Champions League final to look forward to, where they will be big favourites against current fourth-placed Tottenham.
