Jurgen Klopp admits transfer policy change after Ibrahima Konate injury

Jurgen Klopp has said Nat Phillips is now likely to stay at Anfield after Ibrahima Konate joined several other on the treatment table.

The Reds boss confirmed in his pre-Fulham press conference that Konate will be out for ‘a while’ after the Frenchman picked up a knee injury in last Sunday’s friendly against Strasbourg.

Phillips was expected to leave Anfield this summer, with a return to Bournemouth one of several options, but Klopp has since confirmed the 25-year-old will ‘probably’ stay at Anfield.

Konate will miss this weekend’s trip to Fulham alongside Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kostas Tsimikas and Caoimhín Kelleher.

Sadio Mane sends Liverpool warning after Bayern Munich transfer

Sadio Mane has warned that Bayern Munich will beat Liverpool if the two meet in the Champions League this season.

The 30-year-old ended his six-year stay on Merseyside this summer, moving to the German champions for around £27.5million plus add-ons.

But, speaking to the official Bundesliga newsletter he warned his former club, the Senegal winger warned his former club that they will lose out if the two European giants were to meet.

He said: “If we’re going to meet again, of course as Bayern Munich we’d beat Liverpool.”
