Jurgen Klopp admits he has Liverpool decision after Thiago and Henderson injury questions

Jurgen Klopp will make a late decision before deciding whether Jordan Henderson will make his comeback this weekend.

Henderson returned to team training ahead on Thursday ahead of the Premier League clash at Brighton and Hove Albion in Saturday's early kick-off.

The Liverpool skipper sat out the last two games at home to Leicester City and Atalanta having injured his hamstring during England's UEFA Nations League defeat in Belgium earlier this month.

And asked if there was any update on the fitness of Henderson and fellow midfielder Thiago Alcantara, Reds boss Klopp said: “Hendo trained yesterday, parts of team training and then had his individual session, so we have to see what we do with that.

“For all the other players who played now (against Atalanta), they are still in recovery, so that’s how it is when you have only these few days in between.

“We have to make late decisions, so if you were to ask me now what will be the line-up and I was in a mood to tell you, I couldn’t."

Klopp, speaking on Friday morning at his regular pre-match media conference, added: “I make this decision as late as possible because I have to wait until the medical department tells me who looks like (they are) ready.

“Then it looks like from now on we have another 25-and-a-half hours to make sure that we bring the fittest and freshest players on the pitch.”

Thiago been out for six weeks since injuring his knee at Everton, while Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri have been sidelined in the past week.

Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are long-term absentees while Trent Alexander-Arnold is nearing a return from a calf problem and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has started ball work after injuring his knee in August.
