Jurgen Klinsmann picks Man United player Harry Maguire as a danger man ahead of England vs Germany

Jurgen Klinsmann has heaped praise on Manchester United 's Harry Maguire ahead of England's crucial Euro 2020 round of 16 clash against Germany.

Maguire, who came back into the England side after nursing an injury towards the end of last season, is expected to start for the Three Lions on late Tuesday afternoon.

The Manchester United captain missed the first two games of the tournament but played the full 90 minutes against the Czech Republic and looked back to his best dictating the game from the heart of defence.

Germany have looked threatening at times in the tournament and put four goals past an impressive Portugal side.

They kept their mettle in a difficult final group match against Hungary. The Magyars produced a resilient performance and almost knocked the Germans out of the tournament before a late Leon Goretzka strike broke their hearts.

Alan Shearer wrote a column in The Athletic ahead of the game which includes an interview with former German international, Jurgen Klinsmann.

'What do Germany think of England, though? Which players are the Germans scared of?' Shearer posed the question to Klinsmann.

Klinsmann gave an emphatic answer listing a plethora of English players and gave special praise to Maguire.

“You have Raheem Sterling, and you have Mason Mount. You have now Saka who played a good game against the Czech Republic. You have Phil Foden, who I really adore — I thought he had a brilliant year with Man City. You have Harry Maguire, who kind of frightens everybody when this guy rolls through midfield. He reminds me a bit of Lucio, the Brazilian centre-back — he looks like a Mustang running through everybody. And then you have this No 9 killer that hasn’t started the tournament yet.”
