Hold onto your butts, because the next Jurassic World finally has a release date! Three decades after Jurassic Park became a cultural phenomenon, and less than two years after Jurassic World Dominion was thought to be the final installment, fans of the franchise can rejoice knowing more dinosaurs are on the way.

On Monday, Jurassic World's official Instagram account posted the iconic T-rex logo, made famous by the 1993 blockbuster, this time adding a date: July 2, 2025.

While the social media upload did not offer more information past the release date, it was previously announced by The Hollywood Reporter last month that some of the original writers would be returning to recreate a new feature film. David Koepp, who wrote the screenplays for the original Jurassic Park and its 1997 sequel The Lost World: Jurassic Park, both based on Michael Crichton's books of the same name, is set to return to write the script with a new storyline. Steven Spielberg, who famously directed the first film, will return to executive produce the upcoming project.

Bullet Train director David Leitch is reportedly in talks to direct next year's film, Variety said on Monday.

Since Jurassic Park's 1993 release, it's earned more than $6 billion worldwide. The original cast consisted of Sam Neill as paleontologist Alan Grant; Laura Dern as Ellie Satler, a colleague of his; Samuel L. Jackson played park engineer Ray Arnold; Jeff Goldblum as mathematician Ian Malcolm; and more.

Throughout the years, several cast members have returned for other installments of the franchise, which include: 1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park, 2001's Jurassic Park III, 2015's Jurassic World, 2018's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Jurassic World Dominion in 2022.

For Dominion, familiar faces like Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, who joined in later years, were introduced to Neill, Dern, and Goldblum.

'I can say that it was incredible to be back together,' Dern told PEOPLE in May 2022 about returning to her role. 'It was an amazing thing to join my original cast members and go down memory lane, from that experience in the beginning of a franchise through the whole course of these films together with all the key cast members who have been working on these movies, as well as [director] Colin Trevorrow and Steven Spielberg, who is like family to me.'

That same month, Pratt visited the Today show and expressed his belief that Dominion would mark the end of the franchise.

'I really do think it's the end, yeah,' he said. 'You got the legacy cast back — Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum — plus the cast of Jurassic World, all our storylines converging in a way that is very much a finale.'

With the announcement of a new Jurassic World film set to release in July 2025, fans can't help but speculate what thrilling adventures await. While the details surrounding the upcoming movie remain scarce, one thing is for sure: the return of legendary screenwriter David Koepp and Steven Spielberg's executive producer role promises a captivating storyline.

The inclusion of David Leitch, known for his high-octane directing style in films like John Wick and Deadpool 2, as a potential director has fans eager to see how he will bring his unique vision to the Jurassic World universe.

As the franchise continues to evolve, it's clear that the appeal of dinosaurs running amok on the big screen remains as strong as ever. Jurassic Park's legacy has endured, captivating audiences for decades and becoming a pop culture icon. The sheer success of the series, with over $6 billion in global earnings, is a testament to the enduring fascination with these prehistoric creatures.

While the cast for the upcoming Jurassic World film has yet to be announced, fans are hopeful that familiar faces like Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will return to join the original cast members, adding an extra layer of nostalgia and excitement.

As the release date draws nearer, fans of the Jurassic Park franchise can look forward to embarking on another thrilling adventure full of awe-inspiring dinosaurs and heart-pounding action. July 2, 2025, can't come soon enough!
