Jurassic World 3 is bringing back some of the most-loved stars of the franchise, with Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill and Laura Dern all returning.
Goldblum, Neill and Dern played mathematician and chaos theorist Ian Malcom, paleontologist Dr Alan Grant and paleobotanist Dr Ellie Sattler respectively in the 1993 movie, but have not appeared together since the original film
As Collider reports, during a Jurassic Park screening in Hollywood this week, director Colin Trevorrow confirmed that the three actors have significant roles in the sequel.
Goldblum had a major role in The Lost World: Jurassic Park in 1997, while Neill and Dern returned for Jurassic Park III in 2001. Goldblum also made a cameo appearance in the more recent film in the series, Jurassic World: Fallen World, but the trio have not made a significant return to the franchise since it was rebooted in 2015 with Jurassic World.
Plot details of the new film are still under wraps. Fallen World saw the story move away from Isla Nublar island towards the outside world, while the short film Jurassic World: Battle at Big Rock, released earlier this year, saw humans adapting to dinosaurs in the wild.
Jurassic World 3 is expected to the final instalment of the Jurassic World series, and will be released on June 11, 2021.
