Junta-ruled Thailand heads to the polls

On Sunday March 24, Thai citizens will head to the polls for general elections - the first vote in the kingdom in eight years. While these elections are a step towards democracy, the military, which took power in a 2014 coup, still has a firm grip on power. Whatever the results, the new constitution automatically grants it control over a third of parliament. Nevertheless, politicians calling for the end of military rule are speaking out in relative freedom. Our correspondents report.
