'Junior football' - Ian Burchnall delivers brutal Notts County verdict after Halifax defeat

Ian Burchnall hit out at Notts County's lack of game management as they blew a two-goal lead to lose to 10-man Halifax at the Shay.

The Magpies looked to be cruising to all three points when Ruben Rodrigues and Alex Lacey had put them in command.

Tom Bradbury was then sent off for the hosts to leave Notts the simple task of defending a two-goal lead.

But Jordan Slew hit a long-range effort to make it 2-1 before Billy Waters hit an equaliser.

It was then left to Matty Warburton to curl in a winner in stoppage time to leave head coach Burchnall exasperated.

"It was just a crazy game," he said.

"It was hugely, hugely, naive from us after the sending off in the way we played.

"The management of the game was junior football.

"We got so caught up in the nonsense. There was a lot of nonsense on the touchline with the sending off and too many people got dragged into that.

"We lost our focus on what we should be doing and that favoured them.

"Even towards the end with the very last goal, we were so desperate to win the game, and I understand that, we leave ourselves wide open.

"Don't get me wrong, it's an unbelievable strike from the kid, but we should never be in that position.

"We had so many chances to put the game to bed. From there on in it was very naive."
