Junior Cup and Harry Cavan Youth Cup competitions cancelled

The Irish FA has cancelled this season's fonaCAB Junior Cup and Harry Cavan Youth Cup competitions.

The association said it had taken the decision in light of the ongoing restrictions surrounding Covid-19.

The extended lockdown will remain in place until at least March 5, ruling out all non-elite sport in Northern Ireland.

"The decision was taken by the Irish Football Association’s Junior and Youth Cup Committee which met to consider the current health situation in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic and the extended lockdown due to end on 5 March 2021," the IFA said in a statement.

"The Committee recognised the difficulties faced by clubs and leagues during this period and both competitions were cancelled with immediate effect.

"The entry fee for both competitions will be refunded to all clubs."

Cliftonville Olympic won the Youth Cup last season, while Willowbank lifted the Junior Cup.
