The June bank holiday weekend is approaching and so there will be a number of changes to opening hours across most businesses.
Anyone who is looking to make the most of the summer sunshine predicted for the weekend with a BBQ among friends and family won’t want to be caught out by the change in hours at shops nationwide.
For many supermarkets, location plays a role in whether or not they close early across the weekend, so here’s all you need to know ahead of the short break.

Tesco opening hours across the country are due to remain as normal on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with the majority implementing their usual Sunday hours on bank holiday Monday.

Each SuperValu will likely be operating as normal on Friday and Saturday while going by their usual Sunday hours on the bank holiday Monday.

Aldi stores across Ireland operate their weekend hours on bank holidays. The usual opening hours for bank holiday weekends are:
- Friday: 9am until 10pm
- Saturday, Sunday and Monday: 9am until 9pm
Marks and Spencer
Marks and Spencer stores are likely to be open on bank holiday Monday, but may operate at their Sunday hours.
