Junction between Mapperley Plains and Catfoot closed for Severn Water Trent works

Works at a busy junction in Nottinghamshire will cause disruptions to motorists, Severn Trent Water has warned.

The company has apologised for the inconvenience.

Severn Trent Water is carrying out works at the junction between Mapperley Plains and Catfoot Lane, which will be closed from Monday, January 24.

A water pipe is being moved and due to the nature of the work local businesses will have close.

A Severn Trent spokesperson said : "Our teams are carrying out essential work on our network, moving a water pipe to accommodate works needed by a housing development on Catfoot Lane. To keep everyone safe, we are having to close a section of the road, but will be doing everything we can to complete work and reopen the road as quickly as possible. We're really sorry for the disruption this may cause, we have worked with the council on this closure as we're working collaboratively with the housing developer and other utilities who will be using the closure at the same time in an effort to reduce any further disruption, preventing the need to close the road again. We've been in contact with all local businesses in the area to keep them updated, including the crematorium where access will be available at all times, but again, we're really sorry for the inconvenience this may cause. We also want to thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding while we complete this vital work.”
