‘Jumped upwards’: Passenger describes moment train derailed near Lewes

Two people were seriously injured and 18 others hurt when a train derailed between Haywards Heath and Lewes in Sussex on Thursday.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the root cause of the derailment.
Passenger Rob Bradley was travelling with his six-year-old daughter.
He described how his carriage “jumped upwards” and skidded along the tracks.
He recalled seeing the back of the train open, with “smoke and dust ... pouring into the carriage” after it came to a halt.
