Jump for joy: this trampoline park near Edinburgh is planning to launch autism-friendly sessions

Fun-packed trampoline park Ryze Edinburgh - which is based in Dalkeith - have announced it plans to launch a new exclusive monthly session aimed at people with autism.

The ASCEND sessions will take place on the first Thursday of every month at the park in Dalkeith, and will welcome guests with autism and other additional support needs, plus their families and carers (who get to go for free), meaning they can experience the fun of the park in a safe, controlled and supportive environment.

The sessions will give everyone from the age of five to adult the opportunity to enjoy activities that include a wide range of trampolines, giant foam pits and dodgeball cages.

Scott Fairgrieve, managing director for Ryze Edinburgh, said: “We are excited to bring ASCEND to our aerial park here in Edinburgh, and offer exclusive sessions to those who otherwise might not be able to take part in such an exhilarating activity.

“We have been planning the sessions for the past six months, including working closely with the National Autistic Society, creating an environment to protect those with autism through soothing music and calm lighting.

“Our experienced staff have also undergone further extensive training to work with those with additional needs to ensure that everyone who attends will not only have a great time, but can take part safely. The team are looking forward to the sessions beginning on Thursday and we can’t wait to introduce our aerial park to new customers.”

The first official ASCEND session will take place on Thursday 2 May from 7pm to 9pm, then every first Thursday of the month thereafter. Sessions are from £11.00, with one parent or carer going free per paying jumper.
