I was really looking forward to this book, and Gary Northfield did not disappoint me. You might think that a zebra is a stripey horse, eats grass, is stupid and is always getting eaten. But you are wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. This zebra, Julius Zebra, lived in the African plains in Roman times. He had to go to the lake every Wednesday to drink, but he couldn't bear the lake because it was so stinky and made him want to choke. He tries to run away from the lake (I bet you're not surprised), but it ends up leading him to a Roman adventure, fighting annoying gladiators who think that the animals are 'nincompoops'.
I thought that this book was thought up from one inventive brain, willing to make a mind-blowing book and they achieved just that. The page numbers were written in Roman numerals, which was quite confusing. I thought that the book would keep anyone thinking so they were unable to move until they had finished.
I personally would recommend this book for ages 7 and over, and everybody who ends up having one in their hands should definitely READ IT IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!
