There is plenty of hype surrounding the Tennessee Titans this offseason, especially after the addition of wide receiver Julio Jones — and that is reflected in ticket sales.
According to TickPick.com, via Ben Arthur of the Tennessean, the Titans have seen a 63-percent increase in ticket sales since May 12 when the schedule was released.
To nobody’s surprise, the acquisition of Jones had a lot to do with that, as Tennessee has seen a 130-percent increase in ticket sales since the day the veteran was traded for on June 6.
The 63-percent increase is tied for the fourth-highest in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (530%), Los Angeles Rams (112%), and New York Giants (77%) are the only teams to see a bigger increase than Dallas and Tennessee since the release of the schedule.
Average ticket prices have also risen. In 2019, the average Titans ticket was $142, but in 2020 it has increased to $252, a bump of 77 percent.
The hype for the Titans is justified. Tennessee is set to sport an elite offense once again in 2021, and general manager Jon Robinson has pulled off a massive overhaul of a defense that was lackluster to say the least in 2020.
The Titans are not only the favorites to win the AFC South, but they are more than capable of making a deep run in the playoffs. If the defense can vastly improve, the Titans are legit Super Bowl contenders.
