Julio Jones doesn’t get enough credit for being the world-beating wide receiver that he is. The Atlanta Falcons superstar has led the NFL in yards per route run for several years in a row and topped everyone in the league in total receiving yards last season. One part of Jones’ game that has always been elite is his ability to make catches despite tight coverage.
According to Next Gen Stats, Jones ranks No. 3 in catch rate above expectation in tight windows over the last three seasons. Stefon Diggs is in a world of his own in this stat, followed by Demaryius Thomas, then Jones. Here’s the top five players.
Jones is expected to sign a revised contract this offseason which should make him the highest paid receiver in football. The Falcons still have to take care of an extension for their most valuable defensive lineman, DT Grady Jarrett first, though.
