Julio Jones is in a class of his own. In addition to being the NFL’s most drama-free elite wide receiver off the field, he is also the most dominant one on it. Considering the competition, that’s an impressive achievement. Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham and DeAndre Hopkins are all great receivers, but Jones manages to outshine them every year.
Last season, Jones proved yet again that even at 30 years old, he is still the most productive receiver in football, leading the league in receiving yards and yards per route run.
As Pro Football Focus points out below, Jones was also the most explosive wide receiver in terms of plays of 15 yards or more.
Jones led the way with 50 catches of 15+ yards, more than other top receivers DeAndre Hopkins (42), Mike Evans (42) and Brandin Cooks (37) — each of whom are scheduled to earn more than Jones in 2019.
It’s time to pay Jones what he’s worth.
