Julio Jones fans can’t believe Michael Thomas has a 99 overall rating in Madden

The release of Madden NFL 21 is approaching, and EA Sports has been gradually releasing player ratings for the newest version of its mega-popular video game. Players tend to take these overall ratings very seriously, and several high-profile stars – from Lamar Jackson to Kyler Murray – have already voiced their displeasure over EA’s ratings for Madden 21.

You can add the entire Atlanta Falcons fanbase to the list of people upset over Madden ratings this summer. The Falcons-Saints rivalry is one of the best in the NFL, and the two fanbases are now feuding on Twitter over the Madden ratings of wide receivers Michael Thomas and Julio Jones. It was revealed on Friday that Thomas is the highest-rated wide receiver in the game, earning an elite 99 overall rating.

Thomas is one of five players to earn a 99 overall in Madden NFL 21, along with Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, Aaron Donald and Stephon Gilmore. Thomas had a brilliant 2019 season, but Julio Jones fans are incensed that Thomas joined the 99 club when Jones has never received a rating higher than 98 overall.
