Actress and dancer Julianne Hough has revealed she is "not straight" in a new interview. The 31-year-old actress posed nude for the September Women’s Health Naked Strength issue and opened up about her sexuality.
The America’s Got Talent judge revealed she recently spoke to her husband, professional hockey player Brooks Laich, about her sexuality for the first time. “I [told him], ‘You know I’m not straight, right?’ And he was like, ‘I’m sorry, what?’ I was like, ‘I’m not. But I choose to be with you,’” she told the magazine.
“I think there’s a safety with my husband now that I’m unpacking all of this, and there’s no fear of voicing things that I’ve been afraid to admit or that I’ve had shame or guilt about because of what I’ve been told or how I was raised,” she added.
The former Dancing With the Stars pro married Laich on July 8, 2017 in Idaho while wearing a custom Marchesa gown.
Hough was introduced to her athlete husband by mutual friend actor Teddy Sears while filming the horror movie ‘Curve.’ Laich previously saw a Juicy Fruit commercial featuring Hough and jokingly asked Sears, “Where do I meet a girl like that?” When Sears starred alongside her in Curve he connected them.
The Footloose actress is currently working on Kinergy, a new dance cardio method she created, and is planning on launching the class in Los Angeles and then worldwide. She’s devoted to fitness, exercising five days a week and mixing up SoulCycle and hot power yoga at CorePower, as well as weight training with her husband.
She previously dated Ryan Seacrest for three years, from April 2010 to March 2013, splitting nine months before she met her now-husband.
