Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann has insisted Robert Lewandowski is still focused and "motivated" at the Allianz Arena despite rumours linking him with Chelsea.
It is almost public knowledge that the Blues are looking to sign a new striker this summer, with Erling Haaland top of their wishlist, but Lewandowski is another man that's been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are thought to be looking at the Poland striker's situation with the Bundesliga champions, with just under two years remaining on his deal in Munich.
The 32-year-old has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid, though, with AS saying that Los Blancos are likely to move for Lewandowski next summer when he has just 12 months remaining on his deal at the Allianz.
However, newly-appointed Bayern boss Nagelsmann has opened up on his new centre-forward's future and remained coy on any speculation linking him with a departure this summer.
The former RB Leipzig manager said: "The rumours about Robert have been around for ages, ever since he joined Bayern.
"I think it's a bit normal when he scores so many goals that every club somehow puts out feelers and checks the options. I think on the one hand Robert knows what he has in Bayern Munich, what he has in the team, that's point one.
"Point two there's a contractual situation, that's also clear. I have also spoken or texted with him.
"We have had contact. Now, I'm not a big fan of immediately discussing the contractual situation or rumours with a new player as my first official act, but I do that when he is here and part of a private conversation.
"The answers he texted me regarding holiday planning and then coming back here and getting into training all sounded very good and top motivated, and I'm satisfied with that."
Speaking back in May to Canal+, Lewandowski admitted he is "open-minded" about his future.
“I remain open-minded. I feel very good at Bayern, the city is superb, it's a great club," the Pole said.
“I am always curious to learn a new language, a new culture. But whether it will be in football or after my career, even I don't know.”
Lewandowski played in all three of Poland's Euro 2020 games, scoring as many goals in those matches - carrying on his superb form he showed throughout the 2020/21 campaign.
He managed to find the back of the net 48 times in 40 appearances in all competitions for the German giants.
