Julian Edelman takes exception to the NFL’s tweet about draft sleepers

Even in retirement, Julian Edelman still has that chip on his shoulder.

Before the third day of the 2021 NFL Draft began, the league’s official Twitter account posted some examples of late-round picks that found success in their football careers. The tweet included Edelman’s former teammate Tom Brady, 49ers’ tight end George Kittle, Bills’ wide receiver Stefon Diggs, and Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott.

However, the former seventh-round pick out of Kent State believes that his name should have been mentioned along with those listed above.

Despite no longer playing football, and while it may be a little tongue-in-cheek, Edelman’s competitive spirit and drive are clearly still there, as he plays the classic Patriots’ ‘no one respects us’ card.

The NFL was quick to fix their mistake, responding to Edelman less than 10 minutes later.

Finally, the former Super Bowl MVP is getting the respect that he deserves.
