Julian Edelman shows love for Philip Rivers on Twitter after QB retires

New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman took to Twitter to honor Philip Rivers after he decided to retire from the NFL on Wednesday.

Rivers issued a statement about his decision to share a long list of thank-yous to the Indianapolis Colts, the Los Angeles Chargers, his teammates, his family, his coaches and the fans, among others.

Edelman shared a very quick message for Rivers: “Helluva career 17.”

Rivers was 142-114 over his career, but was 1-8 against the Patriots. He most recently matched up against New England in the divisional round of the playoffs after the 2018 season. The Patriots won, 41-28.

The news of Rivers’ retirement has to make Patriots fans wonder how many years Edelman has left.
