Julian Edelman roasts heckling Jets fan at Met Gala

Patriots WR Julian Edelman made one Jets’ fan aware that he doesn’t need a football field to completely dominate Gang Green.

Sometime after this year’s Met Gala, held in New York on Monday night, Edelman was seen exiting an afterparty at the Standard Hotel. By his side were friends and fellow NFL superstars Saquon Barkley and Odell Beckham Jr.

In true-Jets’ fashion, a Gang Green loyalist began to heckle the New York Giants franchise in front of the once-dynamic duo of Barkley and Beckham. At this point, the fan announced to the three players, “Saquon, sorry buddy, [I’m a] Jets fan!” per TMZ Sports.

Edelman, to the rescue of both Barkley and Beckham, couldn’t agree more with the critic.

“I’m a Jets fan too,” Edelman replied. “Every time we play ’em, we win.”

That likely wasn’t what the Jets fan had in mind. While the Patriots’ wideout was simply shutting down one fan of a rival franchise, he wasn’t wrong.

Since becoming a member of the New England Patriots in 2009, Edelman has benefited from a 16-5 record against the Jets. Though AFC East rivals, the outcome has favored his team more often than not.

Edelman can chalk Monday’s comeback as another win for New England.
