Julian Edelman returns to Patriots practice in Week 15

New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman and outside linebacker Shilique Calhoun returned to practice on Wednesday in Week 15.

Edelman was back on the field for the first time since he went on injured reserve on Oct. 31 with a knee injury. He underwent a knee procedure in late October, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Calhoun and Edelman’s returns trigger a 21-day clock to get activated off injured reserve to the 53-man roster. If they do not get added to the roster, they revert back to injured reserve for the rest of the season. They can play as soon as Sunday for New England’s matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

This season, Edelman has 21 catches for 315 yards and zero touchdowns in six games. He was getting the third-most snaps at the receiver position before he went on injured reserve. He had also practiced as limited in every session during the regular season before getting the procedure.

Calhoun has 14 tackles, two sacks and a tackle for loss. He played in eight games this season with zero starts.
