This defense is allowing a league-low 7.6 points per game and they’ve scored just as many touchdowns as they’ve allowed with four. New England leads the league in interceptions (19), passes deflected (69) and sacks (31). This is why Dont’a Hightower coined his defensive unit as ‘The Boogeymen’.
The nickname stuck and Julian Edelman capitalized on the moment with a video dedicated to them on YouTube. He even referenced to Sam Darnold’s moment of seeing ghosts while playing against the Patriots.
He dropped the video in perfect timing for Halloween, and it might be his best hype video so far this season. New England will need this defensive unit in full action during their Week 9 matchup against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
