Julian Edelman ‘likes’ Deion Sanders’ tweet about teaming up with Tom Brady in Tampa Bay

For the first time in 20 seasons, Tom Brady will not be a member of the New England Patriots.

It’s going to be weird for all of us, but Julian Edelman — who has spent his entire NFL career since 2009 in New England — will probably have the biggest adjustment to make with the Brady-less Patriots.

Just in the past couple months, Edelman openly lobbied for Brady to stay in New England. When news of Brady’s likely signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers broke, Edelman responded with a Whitney Houston tribute video.

But what if Edelman could find a way onto the Bucs? Depending on how much stock you put into a Twitter “like” button, Edelman might be open to the idea.

Deion Sanders tweeted on Tuesday that it would make sense for Edelman to go to Tampa Bay with Brady, comparing it to Michael Jordan being without Scottie Pippen.

The tweet ended up in Edelman’s likes. Of course, it could have been an accidental like — after all, it happens. But Edelman did just sign a new deal with the Patriots last year. There’s a potential out after this season with a dead-cap hit of $7.16 million. But in all likelihood, Edelman won’t hit free agency until he’s 35 years old in 2021.

I’m sure Brady won’t mind the reunion, though.
