Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon active for Week 5 vs. Redskins

The New England Patriots will have starting receivers Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon for their game against the Washington Redskins in Week 5.

Gordon was removed from the injury report on Friday while dealing with a knee injury after being limited on Wednesday and Thursday. Edelman (chest) was a limited participant for all three practice sessions.

Tight end Ben Watson, meanwhile, has not been activated to the 53-man roster after returning from suspension in Week 5. He will not play on Sunday. If the Patriots are to add him to the roster, they must do so by Monday.

Running backs Rex Burkhead and Damien Harris, safeties Nate Ebner and Patrick Chung, offensives lineman Korey Cunningham, quarterback Cody Kessler and defensive tackle Bryon Cowart were ruled inactive for New England’s Week 5 contest against the Redskins.

Safety Jordan Richards, who joined the team this week, is active and could see a prominent role on special teams. He spent 2015 to 2017 with the Patriots after the team drafted him in the second round.

Here’s a look at the Redskins’ inactives.
