Assange arrest: ‘A sad day for human rights, for freedom of expression and for Ecuador’

France 24

FRANCE 24 spoke with Fidel Narvaez, former consul at Ecuador's embassy in London, who shared his disappointment with his country's decision to revoke asylum from WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

"This is a sad day for human rights, for freedom of expression and for Ecuador," Narvaez said.

"What happened today is clearly a coordination between Ecuador, the British and the United States. The British have carefully waited for the political conditions to change in Ecuador, and now they have what they've always wanted."
