To mark the bicentenary of portrait photographer Julia Margaret Cameron’s birth, the Art Gallery of New South Wales will showcase over 100 of her images from London’s Victoria and Albert Museum’s collection.
The images trace Cameron’s early ambitions as a photographer (who took her first photo at age 48), through to her later experiments as a renowned innovator within the Victorian era. The exhibition will also offer a selection of her personal letters and a range of material from Australian collections.
