Jules Kounde hints at summer transfer amid Manchester United links

Jules Kounde has broken his silence on his future amid links to Manchester United this summer.

Many reports have suggested the Sevilla defender is on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 's centre-back shortlist, with Sky Sports alleging Cristian Romero, Sven Botman and Kounde are the United boss' preferred candidates for a suitable partner for Harry Maguire next season.

The MEN, however, understands Raphael Varane and Pau Torres are at the top of United's defender wish list.

Kounde has steadily built a reputation as one of Europe's most exciting young centre-backs in La Liga and at 22 years old he's been included in Didier Deschamps' France squad for the upcoming European Championship.

Speaking at a press conference on international duty with France, Kounde was asked about his future.

"Regarding my future, it is certain that I will perhaps be brought to change this summer, but nothing is acted yet, I did not decide anything," Kounde said. "My objective is to evolve at a big club, to always try to progress and win trophies, too.

"I may have to move, but it is not on the agenda."

Another centre-half who has previously been linked with United is Fiorentina's Nikola Milenkovic and, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian side are willing to sell the Serb to the highest bidder this summer, with Arsenal also reportedly interested.

Who should United's top defensive target be this summer? Let us know in the comments section.
