Juice WRLD’s posthumous album Legends Never Die 'crashes' Spotify and Apple Music as influx of fans try to stream new music

Juice WRLD’s first posthumous album has dropped today — and all the hype seems to have crashed the late rapper’s page on Spotify and Apple Music.

Legends Never Die is the first full-length release to emerge after the 21-year-old artist passed away in December last year.

The 21-track release features contributions from the likes of Halsey, Marshmello, Trippie Redd and others.

The release caused a wave of excitement to spread across social media, with legions of fans flocking to streaming services to get their first listen.

However, many social media users reported that Juice WRLD’s artist page on both Spotify and Apple Music ‘crashed’ at various points this morning.

At the time of writing, the Standard could not access Juice WRLD’s Spotify page on mobile, with an error message claiming “Something went wrong”. However, the desktop version was working properly, and Apple Music seemed to be operating without issues.

Legends Never Die is Juice WRLD’s third album, following on from his 2018 debut Goodbye and Good Riddance, as well as Death Race for Love in 2019.

Before his death, the American artist was touted as one of the next great stars to emerge from the country’s rap scene. His passing was met with scores of tributes, with Drake, Lil Nas X and Camilla Cabello among those paying their respects.
