Jan. 26--Name: Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream SPF 30
What it is: An SPF 30 tinted sunscreen that soothes and moisturizes skin while protecting it from UVA and UVB rays. It is recommended for all skin types. The active ingredient is 20 percent natural, non-nano zinc oxide. (Products with nano particles can break down in the sun.) Stem Cellular CC Cream contains antioxidants that include a proprietary blend of fruit stem cells with vitamin C, infused into a resveratrol-rich grape-seed base to rejuvenate the skin and help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, according to the Juice Beauty website. Stem Cellular is made with certified organic ingredients, free of the parabens and similar toxins found in many sunscreens. It is available in five shades in a 1.7-ounce tube.
The Good: This is the first sunscreen that I remember to use daily because it smells good and feels great. Instead of drying out my skin, it adds moisture. And it's easy to apply. This summer it kept me from getting sunburn while fishing and camping in Quebec, and it protected my face from the elements on a 10-day cruise through Alaska's Inside Passage. And the tint is great for evening out my skin tone or hiding circles under my eyes if I am weary from jet lag, lack of sleep or too much alcohol.
The Bad: My only quibble is that I wish the price was lower.
Cost: $39
