The Office of the Judiciary is recruiting the first batch of court marshals to provide security at courthouses and pursue offenders who jump bail.
Judge Punnapat Mahaleetraul said yesterday the office has announced 40 vacancies for soldiers and police keen to work as court marshals, both as desk officials and those in charge of operations.
The job openings follow the creation of a court security centre directed by Pol Col Surapong Plengkham, a superintendent of the Special Branch's Division 3, with a budget of some 200 million baht.
The centre plans to deploy more than 17,000 court marshals to supervise security at courthouses and arrest suspects who flee bail granted by the courts.
