Judge tells man found with Class A drugs in Easton to prepare for prison

A man who admitted intending to deal drugs in Easton has been told to prepare for jail.

Zakaria Ahmed was due to face a two-day trial in February next year.

But the 22-year-old, of Queen Ann Road, St Phillips, pleaded guilty to possessing Class A drugs cocaine and diamorphine with intent to supply at Pennywell Court, in Pennywell Road, on September 18, 2018.

Rodney Wilson, defending, said his client has no previous convictions and is currently homeless.

Mr Wilson told Bristol Crown Court today (November 12): "He is under no illusions as to what the sentence will be."

Judge Euan Ambrose adjourned sentence to December 6, pending a probation report.

He bailed Ahmed and told him: "You should prepare yourself for a prison sentence next time."
