STAMFORD, Conn. _ A Superior Court judge Friday barred contact between Fotis Dulos and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, both charged in connection with the disappearance of Dulos' estranged wife and New Canaan mother of five Jennifer Farber Dulos.
Troconis, 44, of Farmington, was scheduled to appear in court next month, but a hearing was scheduled Friday so a judge could consider new motions filed in the case. One of the motions filed by Troconis asked the court to prohibit "Fotis Dulos or his attorneys, agents or representatives from having any contact whatsoever, whether in-person, electronic, telephonic or in any other way, with defendant Michelle Troconis."
The judge also granted Troconis' motion to travel out of state from June 30 to July 17.
Troconis and Dulos were both charged earlier this month with tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution in connection with the May 24 disappearance of Farber Dulos. Both are free on bail.
Investigators said that a woman who looks like Troconis was spotted on cameras in Hartford along with a man resembling Dulos as he threw out bags along Albany Avenue, arrest records show. Some of the bags contained items with Farber Dulos' blood.
An attorney for Dulos filed a motion earlier this week that his client wants to see Troconis. A judge barred the two from seeing one another.
In the motion, attorney Norm Pattis said Troconis was overheard saying she still loved Dulos, believed he had nothing to do with the disappearance of Farber Dulos and felt badly he had been accused of foul play.
Troconis' scheduled appearance Friday comes as investigators continue their search for Farber Dulos. Both Troconis and Dulos have pleaded not guilty to charges.
On Thursday, New Canaan police said the case remains active with a sizable contingent of investigators. The department has received roughly 1,000 tips in the case.
Earlier this week, Pattis told a family court judge overseeing the couple's custody hearings that he offered to have Dulos sit down with prosecutors and discuss Farber Dulos' state of mind leading up to her disappearance.
Pattis, outside court Wednesday, said, "We are actively pursuing a revenge-suicide hypothesis as an explanation for her disappearance."
