Judge Judy unveils first major new look in 22 years - and sends viewers reeling

For 22 years Judge Judy Sheindlin has worked her own special brand of courtroom chic.

Glasses, caramel highlighted bob, black gown and aura of steel have completed Judge Judy's aesthetic for over two decades.

Now, however, she's gone and got herself a new hairdo and, trust us, people care a LOT.

Brace yourselves.

The 76-year-old had viewers shaken when she entered the courtroom at the beginning of Monday's episode having replaced her signature 'do with a ponytail, which was held in place with a silver barette.

'Liquid gold' fake tan which never needs to be washed off has beauty fans in a frenzy

Fans of the show were quick to react to Judge Judy's brand-new look.

First and foremost, it seems viewers needed a few moments to process the change.

Key detail missing from Prince Louis's birthday photos - and it's a real shame

As with all drastic make-overs , it had people divided.

Feedback from one Twitter user read: "I don’t like the ponytail just can’t take you serious with that look please go back to your signature hairstyle."

But the new look also had its fair share of fans too.

"I love it! Love her!" wrote one such admirer.

"I think her change in her hairstyle is fantastic. She's a strong woman as we all know," agreed another.

There's no official word from Judge Judy herself about her hairstyle change - probably because she's too busy getting on with the business of being a style icon.
