The next panel of prospective jurors has been sworn in.
The judge is now giving them instructions and dismissing them for the day. They will be brought back tomorrow morning around 11 a.m. ET. Judge Juan Merchan says he'd like to start at 11:30 a.m. ET Friday with this panel.
Thursday's dismissal of two jurors who were seated underscores how the process is not perfect and requires 'self-reflection and self-disclosure,' a legal analyst noted.
'We were one step forward, now it's two jurors back,' sources reported. 'It's not a perfect system. It's not quite an honor system. But it is about self-reflection and self-disclosure.'
The goal is to find jurors who don't have a personal stake in the matter and who can keep an open mind, but it's proving more and more challenging as the hours — not just the days — go by.
