Judge approves PSL settlement; Rams owe up to $24M

The Rams owe St. Louis personal seat license holders up to $24 million after a federal judge approved the settlement on Monday. The PSL holders have until Aug. 23 to file for refunds, with payouts expected to begin in December, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The lawsuit stemmed from the Rams leaving St. Louis for Los Angeles in 2016, which in turn left fans paying for games they could no longer attend. The PSL was for 30 years, but the Rams left St. Louis after 21 years.

As a result, license holders will get a 30 percent refund on their original purchase price (plus damages), which depended on where the seats were located. Prices ranged from $250 to $4,500.

This is a win for the PSL holders in St. Louis, though it hardly makes up for the team leaving the city. There are still a lot of upset fans in the Midwest who can no longer see their team play in person.
