Jude Bellingham transfer record valuation set amid Liverpool links

Liverpool will reportedly have to pay a fee in the region of £101million to Borussia Dortmund if they are to prise Jude Bellingham away from the club.

Bellingham is one of the most exciting young players in the world at the moment, having made the move to the Bundesliga giants from Birmingham City in 2020.

The 18-year-old has already cemented his status as a key man for Dortmund in the German top flight and the Champions League. Recently, he set social media ablaze, scoring a stunning solo goal in his team's 3-1 win over Arminia Bielefeld.

The Reds have been linked with a possible move for the England international, although according to Bild (h/t Metro) they will have to pay a club-record amount to secure his signature.

Liverpool's current record transfer is the £75million paid to land Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.

The ECHO understands that while Liverpool have long been admirers of Bellingham, any talk of a move is premature.

Everton forward Demarai Gray, who recently had a spell in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen before returning to the Premier League in the summer, thinks the youngster will be back in English football soon.

"For Jude it’s a different ball game, at his age, the way he plays, how mature he is, how he is physically," Gray told Football Daily’s Unfiltered. "He’s going to play for top teams. He’s still so young, it’s scary to see how he will develop.

"For sure, Jude taking a step to go and play out there [with Dortmund], it’s clearly benefited him a lot. He’s been with the England team and he’s improving non-stop. For sure, I’m pretty sure he’ll be back in England."
